Paul Scholes thinks that Jose Mourinho has started to organize his own exit as manager of Manchester United.
Mourinho was sacked by the leaders of Old Trafford in December, after a poor start to the Premier League season, which left United far behind.
Player criticism and negative football were considered two of the reasons why Mourinho was removed from office. Acting interim replacement, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has turned out to be a breath of fresh air since United has won six games in six.
Scholes explained that Mourinho had begun to resign.
"I felt that he (Mourinho) did not want to be there," said the former midfielder. "He perfectly organized his move at the end.
"His press conferences were embarrbading, so negative that it was obvious that the players did not want to play for him, the good thing happened at the end."
And Scholes said it was the dispute between Mourinho and the United club captain, which proved that the end was near.
"He's scrambled with Antonio Valencia, who is the most handsome man in the world," he said. "It's impossible to quarrel with Antonio Valencia.
"It was a big sign to me that something was wrong."
Scholes also responded to Mourinho's claims that he and other former United players in the media were too harsh on him.
"I was just honest about the questions that were asked and what I saw from the manager," he said.
"He started complaining very early in the preseason, saying that the kids were not good enough, which I did not like from the start."
