Paul Smyth: Wycombe Wanderers recruits QPR striker in Northern Ireland

Paul Smyth only took four minutes to score in his debut in Northern Ireland against South Korea in March 2018

Wycombe Wanderers have signed Irish forward Northern Ireland Paul Smyth for a Queens Park Rangers loan.

The 21-year-old has scored two goals in 19 games for the West London team since coming to Linfield in 2017.

Smyth spent the second half of last season on loan with Accrington, his Ligue 1 opponent, and scored the first of two goals for Stanley in their 3-1 victory over the Chairboys in March.

He scored in his Northern Ireland debut against South Korea in March 2018.

"He's fast, he can get things moving and he has a good eye for the goal, so I know it's going to be a really exciting addition to our front line and our fans will love watching it play," he said. Gareth Ainsworth, Wycombe's coach, on the club's website.
