Reverend Christopher Nyarko Andam, Regional President of the National Peace Council of the Ashanti Region, condemned the shooting that took place at the regional headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NCD) of the Ashanti region on Monday, February 18, 2019.

The incident cost one life and hurt another one critically. The victim receives treatment at Komfo Anokye University Hospital.

Police have since said that four people alleged to be members of the pro-NDC self-defense group, The Hawks, were wanted.

The suspects, according to the police, are Warrior, Damous, Migyima and Abu Tariban.

Speaking at Kumasi's morning show on Kumasi 104.1FM on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, Reverend Andam Andam described the incident as unfortunate and called for an end to the violence.

Akwesi Agudey, host of the show, said that the much vaunted peace enjoyed by the country is in jeopardy.

He called on all stakeholders to join forces to fight political vigilance in order to preserve the peace of the nation.

Reverend Andam urged the different political parties to use the police during their functions instead of using militia as security forces.
