One study showed that people with mental illness are twice as likely to lose their existing benefits as providers with a health problem.1

Researchers at York University badyzed government data on approximately 320,000 claimants aged 16 to 64 with a physical or mental health problem who had been rebadessed from a claim entitlement Disability Assistance Plan (DLA) for transfer to Personal Independence Payments (PIP) between April 2013 and October 2016.
