MILAN: Ivan Perisic led the second-half tie-up to save a 1-1 draw of the A Cup against Inter Milan against AS Roma on Saturday in a key match in the battle for the Champions League.
Stephan El Shaarawy knocked out San Siro in the 14th minute in the 14th minute, scoring a brilliant goal for Roma. He cut the inside, let three defenders pbad and escaped his shot towards the upper right corner.
The goal came soon after Inter's striker, Lautaro Martinez, had a brilliant header on the post of Roma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante.
Inter, whose attacks frustrated off the surface, leveled off in the 61st minute, while Perisic met Danilo's center of Ambrosio with a diving header that pbaded Antonio Mirante.
Roma nearly stole a winner of the match, but Samir Handanovic brilliantly managed to beat Aleksandar Kolarov after the Serb escaped from Inter's defense.
Inter remained third with 61 points and Claudio Ranieri's fifth of Rome with 55, a point behind AC Milan who drew 1-1 in Parma. The top four teams qualify for the Champions League next season.
"We came here to try to win, which I always want from my teams," said Ranieri, whose team has won three games, one draw and two losses since he replaced Eusebio Di Francesco.
"We could have done better in counterattack in the second half."
Inter coach Luciano Spalletti said it was the right result.
"There were chances for us but we were not so good at keeping our form at the back while attacking what constitutes our Achilles heel," he said. . "It's a valuable result in the circumstances."
