Perseus Mining gold production up 5%

Gold exploration, Perseus Mining (ASX: PRU) Gold production increased 5% for the March 2019 quarter compared to the same period last year.

It produced 67,144 ounces, of which 44,680 ounces from the Edikan gold mine in Ghana and 22,464 ounces from the Sissingué gold mine.

This is in line with its expectations and allows the company to reach its half-yearly forecast of 130,000 to 150,000 ounces by June 2019.

Jeff Quartermaine, General Manager and General Manager of Perseus, said: "This is the ninth consecutive quarter in which Perseus has achieved strong operating results for its gold mines in Africa. Perseus Mining (ASX: PRU) is trading 1.7% higher at 46 cents.
