Perth has been named host of the ATP Cup, the most anticipated event in world tennis, the first of which will take place in January 2020.
"The ATP Cup will launch the men's world tennis season – it's their event – it means a lot to them and they have been 100% supportive," said Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley. He joined Tennis Western CEO Michael Roberts and Western Australia Tourism Minister Paul Papalia go to RAC Arena in Perth.
"Four of the top 12 players and eight of the top 24 will play in Perth. 24 teams will compete in three cities: Perth, Brisbane and Sydney.
"With 750 ranking points and $ 22 million in prizes at stake, along with the honor of standing alongside your teammates and representing your country, we know it will be a spectacular and meaningful event for the players," continued Tiley.
The exciting format will include two singles and one doubles match per draw. Two sessions a day, with six days of incredible tennis.
The ATP Cup will be part of the largest international tennis event ever held in Australia, with events in Perth, Brisbane and Sydney parallel to the Brisbane International Women's Event. A new combined men's / women's tournament in Adelaide, Hobart International and a new edition of the Canberra Challenger will follow, all of which will culminate in the Australian Open at the end of January.

The world No. 1 and chairman of the board of ATP players, Novak Djokovic, has lent his support to the ATP Cup.
