In a horrific incident, a dog killed a two-year-old boy in Louisville, Kentucky. On Tuesday, three people were indicted as a result of the deadly attack of a dog.
The owners of the dog – Jack Charpring Jr., 50, and Sharon Charpring, 53 – have been charged with manslaughter at second degree in connection with the May 2 attack, according to the lawyer. from the Commonwealth, Jeff Cooke. The victim's mother, Jennifer Geiling, 25, was charged with reckless homicide.
Authorities said the child had been attacked by the dog in the Chickasaw neighborhood. The child, identified as Isaiah Geiling, was taken to Norton Children's Hospital after being viciously bitten by the animal. However, the doctors declared him dead a few minutes after his arrival. The coroner stated that the child died as a result of a blunt wound.
The dog, named King, was quarantined mandatory at the Louis Animal Metro Animal Services after the attack. Teeya Barnes, a spokeswoman for Louisville Metro Animal Services, said the dog was still in quarantine and "will remain in detention until the Commonwealth attorney's office tells us otherwise."
The Charpings and Geiling are expected next week at Jefferson Circuit Court for indictment.
