A month after the publication of an alarming message on social media, Pete Davidson returned to Saturday Night Live and addressed his public call for help.
In December, the 25-year-old star shared a note on her Instagram account, writing, "I really do not want to be on this earth anymore." His message continued: "I'm doing my best to stay here for you but I do not know how long I can last." All I've ever tried to do is help people, remember that I told you. "
Davidson 's message caused a lot of concern among fans and friends, many of them tweeting their support for the comedian. Hours after his job, Davidson made a brief appearance in the final SNL episode of 2018 where he presented Miley Cyrus"performance.
Last night, Davidson made his return to the show, where he made a joke about his suicide alert during "Weekend Update".
During the segment, Davidson was joined by the comedian John Mulaney review the Clint Eastwood movie, The mule.
"Pete Davidson is here to talk about a very important experience that he has experienced during the holidays." Colin Jost says Davidson was joining him during the segment. "How are you, Pete?
"I'm fine, as you know, I've spent a really crazy month and I want to talk about something that matters a lot to me," Davidson said.
"OK, mental health?" Jost asked.
"No, the new Clint East movie, The mule"Davidson told Jost.
Mulaney then joined Davidson at the "Weekend Update" counter, where they discussed their appreciation of the film.
"I did not really know you had spent time together," Jost told Davidson and Mulaney.
"Yes, we do, but often it looks like I'm Pete's lawyer," Mulaney said.
"Yeah, people generally think that he's like an NBA coach and I'm like a controversial recruit," Davidson told Jost.
"But actually, I spent time with Pete trying to show him that comedy can lead a life that is not crazy," Mulaney said. "A sober domestic life."
"Yes, and after watching John's life, I publicly threatened to commit suicide," said Davidson laughing. "I'm sorry, I know I should not be making this joke, but it's funny."
It was then that Mulaney turned to Davidson to make sure: "You are loved by many … and we are happy that you are doing well."
At the end of the segment, Davidson apparently approached his ex, Ariana Grande, saying, "I did not mention it once."
