We just received a well-deserved Oscar nomination for Spider-Man: in the Spider-Verseproducers Phil Lord and Chris Miller buy a new science fiction project called The last human that they also hope to lead, if everything goes as planned. Several studios, including Sony and Warner Bros., both have a story with Lord and Miller, thanks to the Jumping street and LEGO movie franchises, respectively.
The last human is based on the next children's book of the same name from Lee Bacon, and Shazam! scribe Henry Gayden will write the script. The book takes place after the apocalypse of a robot, while humans have been extinct for 30 years. The story tells the story of a 12-year-old robot who discovers a 12-year-old human girl named Emma, who has spent all her life hiding in an underground bunker. They form an improbable friendship and together undertake a dangerous journey. Amulet Books will publish The last human in October.

I must be honest … this principle seems a bit unfamiliar to me, and it also seems to have an impact on youth – while I think Lord and Miller are at their best when they are allowed to be a little upset. I know robots are destined to play a bigger role in society in the future, but I feel like I've seen so many movies like this, even though I suppose the devil is hiding in the details. I did not read the book, so it's hard to judge, but I was surprised that the studios are so hot because of the generic logline.
