Liverpool barely ahead

It’s actually incredibly impressive that the Reds are leading the standings.

Although he has lost his entire defense at one point or another, despite losing first-team games, Liverpool are top of the table.

We’ve lost points through negligence throughout the season, but those missed opportunities can be attributed to tired legs and side spins.

As soon as we are back in great shape, the guys will surely start moving again.

At the time of writing, the gap is only two points with the Reds ready to travel to Newcastle United to set the record just after a home draw with West Brom.

Gary Neville on his Liverpool title rivals

This week has been a stop start in the Premier League.

The past seven days have seen postponements, top teams dropping points and late winners.

As the dust settles, the North West rivals of the Reds breathe Jürgen Klopp’s neck. Speaking to Amazon Prime Video after United’s latest winner, Phil Neville said:

“I think what you have to do when you watch a title race is watch the competition.

“Liverpool are in the lead and rightly so I think they are the best team in the country. But there is no other team that really wants to go and challenge Liverpool.

“Chelsea have slipped, Tottenham slipped recently, Everton are up there who are in very good shape. Apart from that, Manchester City are only on the rise.

“United are in this title race if they stay at that level of performance. They’re playing better football, they’re fun, they’re starting to win at home. They have a great team, they score goals.

What RTK has to say

Phil Neville praising Liverpool is always music to the ears.

Hearing that Man United are concentrating is unsettling, however.

The Red Devils have put together impressive results in recent weeks.

Although we shouldn’t get carried away, they are still inclined to bottle it.

As long as the Reds don’t surrender and we don’t lose more players to long-term injuries, that’s fine.
