Philanthropist modernizes Yendi hospital and provides wheelchairs for people with disabilities in Savelugu

Yendi, in Ghana’s northern region, remains one of the poorest constituencies in the country, but one man hopes to change that narrative soon.

For many years, Mananu Abdulai Jibson has consistently funded many development projects on his own and touched many lives in the region.

From school children to traditional rulers, Mananu Jibson’s philanthropy has benefited thousands of people.

Originally from Yendi but based in the United States of America, Mananu Jibson is also keen to represent the constituency in Parliament as an independent candidate and works tirelessly to achieve this.

Explaining why he will contest the seat as an independent media candidate last year, he said for more than a decade, MPs affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ghana’s two main political parties failed to fulfill their mandate.

He believes that an independent candidate who has demonstrated a commitment to seeing Yendi grow will gain the necessary support.

Recently, Mananu Jibson painted the whole palace of the revered Ya Na and also modernized the whole Yendi hospital.

It also provided wheelchairs for disabled people in Savelugu and school supplies for hundreds of students in Yendi and Savelugu.

“My sincere goal is to encourage more people to care about and support disadvantaged communities. We don’t always have to wait for the government to bring development, ”he said.

He has promised to build a cultural center, a museum, tourist sites in Adibo and Sang, if his parliamentary ambitions are successful.

“My long-term plan is to create a meat processing plant that can employ hundreds of people and to create factories to extract biodiesel from shea nuts. I also plan to set up a soap processing factory by upgrading the local ‘Awabila’ to the standard 100% organic soap, ”he says.
