Global, clumsy and overflowing seems to be the mantra of culinary creatives that are behind all the new foods that you can enjoy this year at the PNE Fair. But save space for healthier meals – or at least eat without meat – and a lot of fried goodness for 2019.
Last year, everything was focused on crickets and charcoal, while this year it was only gherkins and ramen. And just when you thought the fries could not be extra, they left and ran them one foot.
For 2019, more than 10% of the food booths at the Fair are new and it seems that the focus is more on herbal options. The now-omnipresent Beyond Meat hamburger will be installed in two locations on the living room (at the Booth Stuffed Burger handmade on the main line of the lounge or at Lookland Grill Playland).
Among the many new suppliers that offer vegetarian options are Govinda's Vegan Vegetarian Street Food and North Vancouver's Buddha-Ful Vegetarian Food, who will park their two-storey food truck on the main line of the Fair.
Apart from Buddha Bowls, there are still lots of bacon and buttery beer in the cask. Oh, and speaking of faucets, this year the CWP collaborated with the local artisbad brewery Parallel 49 on a Mexican-inspired easy-drinking beer called NeFAIRious Cerveza. – look for it at the Fair and T49 Tasting Room in "Yeast Van".
