The Supreme Court today heard the request for review filed by lawyers for John Dramani Mahama, challenging the court’s decision not to allow the petitioner to reopen his case.
Mr. Mahama, who is the petitioner, had urged the court to grant his request, stating that he intended to summon the President of the EC, Jean Mensa, to testify in the ongoing election petition.
Lawyers for the 2020 NDC presidential candidate sought to convince the panel of nine Supreme Court justices to allow them to reopen their case.
They had previously submitted the same request to the 7 original judges who heard the case, saying that they intended to subpoena the President of the EC, Jean Mensa.
Mr Mahama insists that the Supreme Court made fundamental errors in its earlier ruling, hence the request for review.
However, this request was rejected.
