The timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Wednesday at dawn prevented a midnight fire from completely burning down Zenith University College near the Accra International Trade Fair Center in Accra.
Firefighters said at 2:08 a.m. on Wednesday that they had received a distress call regarding the blaze and arrived at the scene five minutes later.
About five firefighters were mobilized on the site of the Fair, one from the firefighters’ headquarters and another from the armed forces.
It took the firefighters about three hours to fight the hell out and put it out completely.
Preliminary investigations revealed that two offices, a store and two recreation centers were completely destroyed.
The cause of the fire is still not known as firefighters have opened an investigation.
