A 20-year-old man suspected of death has knocked out his friends and grieving family members when he woke up at his own funeral, according to a report.

Mohammad Furqan, from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh state city, in northern India, was admitted to a private hospital on June 21, 2019 after being stunned in a serious accident, according to reports.

The patient was declared dead after his family reportedly informed hospital staff that he could not afford to pay more than 54,000 GHc ($ 10,000) on his multiplicative medical bills.

Furqan's body was returned home to members of his family, who were burying their beloved when the unthinkable occurred.

"Devastated, we were preparing for the burial when some of us saw a movement in its limbs," Mohammad Irfan, the elder brother of Furqan, revealed during an interview.

"We immediately took Furqan to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where the doctors claimed that he was alive and placed him under respiratory badistance," he added.

Furqan remains in critical condition but remains "Certainly not brain death" according to the doctors treating the patient.

"He has pulse, blood pressure and his reflexes are working and he has been on respiratory badistance."
