Do you browse Pinterest on your desktop?
Although the vast majority of app use comes via a mobile device, the recently listed company is looking to maximize its options by launching an integrated Windows 10 app that adds Pinterest to your "Start Menu" options. "and facilitates a more transparent navigation on PC.
As explained by Pinterest:
"While we are focusing on developing ways for Pinners to find inspiration for all the centers of interest, sites and platforms, we understood that we needed to improve the experience of Windows. To access Pinterest from the desktop, you must use a browser, often with many tabs open, which can be a tedious experience. To create a more homogenous experience, we are today officially introducing the Windows application for Pinterest in Windows 10. With Pinterest easily accessible from the Start menu and taskbar and through further integration with Windows, Pinners can now navigate with a more rewarding and engaging experience. "
The tool will provide users with another way to browse the platform and search for relevant product matches, thus extending the utility of the application. And given the fact that Pinterest is currently seeing most of its growth in markets outside the US – where, potentially, using the desktop is a more important consideration – it makes sense that the platform form strengthens its features in this regard.
Indeed, according to Pinterest's first performance report, the platform would now have 291 million active users per month, including 206 million from outside the United States. The platform grew 29% in these global markets in the last quarter, compared to 6% in the United States. So, it may seem that the mobile should be the focus, and a Windows integration is a little outdated. probably in markets other than those we know immediately.
But it can obviously also be useful for Western users – as you can see in the photo above, the new application adds Pinterest to your main menu, making it easy to click and check the latest pins.
