VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) – Clark Public Health County now has a list of 35 potential exposure sites for measles, including health care facilities, schools, churches, and businesses .
The latest figures are 22 confirmed cases of measles, mainly in young children, and three suspected cases.
The places visited by these patients are now doing their best to prevent even more people from getting sick.
At PeaceHealth Urgent Care on Main Street in Vancouver, signs and a security guard are in place. It is there to stop visitors under 12, those who have not been vaccinated or whose immune system is compromised. They tell FOX 12 that they do not want to take any chances.
In addition, PeaceHealth states, "Patients who have been exposed to measles or who have measles symptoms should call their health care provider before planning an in-person visit. This will allow the provider to develop a care plan for you that does not increase the risk for others. "
The Evergreen School District now has four schools on the exhibit list, including the newest, Orchards Elementary. They ask all those who have been exposed to measles, "not to attend a show or event at school – including all games, games and sporting games – unless". they have proof of immunization or immunity. "
Others are going even further to stop the spread. The 41st Street Truth Church posts a warning on its website, asking the faithful to not take any children to church until February. They canceled Sunday school.
On Tuesday, Clark County Public Health officials will call people who may have been exposed to measles. They will ask questions about possible symptoms to identify new cases.
