Platinum End anime gets trailer, Crunchyroll release date at SDCC 2021

The new series from the creators of Death threat arrives at Crunchyroll. End Platinum‘s To come up The animated adaptation will air on Crunchyroll in the west when it releases this fall, the streaming service announced on Friday at its San-Diego Comic Con 2021 panel.

To celebrate the announcement, Crunchyroll released a new version of the anime trailer with English subtitles that effectively explain the entire plot of the series. End Platinum follows the story of Mirai Kakehashi, a young student who tries to kill herself but is saved by Nasse, a guardian angel. Nasse explains that Mirai was chosen as one of 13 candidates to replace God, who will retire in 999 days. While Mirai doesn’t want to participate, some of the other contests will stop at nothing in their quest to become the most powerful force in the universe.

End Platinum was originally a manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, the creative team behind the original Death threat manga. End Platinum was first published in November 2015 and was featured in Jump Square magazine until January 2021. The new animated series is hosted by Signal.MD, the studio behind FLCL: Progressive.

End Platinum will debut on Crunchyroll this fall with episodes airing weekly throughout the 24-episode first season.
