Going to the bingo hall or pub with friends protects against dementia, according to research.
One study followed more than 10,000 middle-aged Britons for three decades to badess how socialization affected their risk of debilitating brain disease.
It was found that 60-year-olds who saw friends or family every day were 12% less likely to develop dementia than single people.
