BRAWLEY – The pioneer Memorial Healthcare District has asked employees here and at its Calexico Health Center to wear red Friday to mark Heart Health Month.
Group photos were taken at Pioneers Memorial Hospital and Calexico Health Center to commemorate this occasion and promote awareness of heart disease.
According to estimates by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, about one in four deaths is due to heart disease and is also the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States each year.
Attributing factors to heart disease include hypertension, high LDL cholesterol and smoking, to name a few.
