The National Executive Committee of the National People’s Convention (PNC) dismissed the party’s leader, David Apasera, and its national president, Moses Danibaah from their posts.
In addition, the suspended general secretary, Janet Nabila, was cleared of the charges against her and reinstated.
This development follows a petition from Janet Nabila, the Ashanti regional party youth organizer, Muniru Mohammed; and the party’s communications director for the northeast region, Memuna Yidana, dismissed Mr. Apasera and Moses Danibaah from their posts.
Speaking to the media in Kumasi after an extraordinary meeting of the National Executive Committee, PNC Ashanti Regional Secretary Seidu Suleiman described the party’s decisions which were echoed in a statement.
“This NEC has subjected the petition submitted by the three to a very diligent examination and confirmed all the accusations to be the truth. Therefore, Mr. David Apasera and Mr. Moses Danibaah are guilty of the charges, ”the statement read.
The regional president of Greater Accra will now act as the national president and leader of the PNC.
Janet Nabila alleged that Mr. Danibaah and Mr. Apasara had embezzled funds to the tune of GHS 70,000 from party coffers.
She was then suspended on August 28, 2021 for serious misconduct, insubordination and incompetence.
She was also accused of having destabilized the party.

COMMUNIQUE AT THE END OF THE EXTRAORDINARY MEETING OF THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE PNC (CNE) HELD IN KUMASI, 7E DAY OF SEPTEMBER 2021
- In accordance with Article 45 (1a) of the PNC constitution, the NEC met in Kumasi in an extraordinary manner, to address recent disturbing events within the party and to take a decision on a petition presented to the NEC. by the secretary general; Janet Asana Nabla, the regional Ashanti youth organizer; Muniru Mohammed and the director of communications for the North East; Mamuna Yidana.
- Nine (9) regional presidents and secretaries were present at the meeting, some national officials as required by law. National Vice President Henry Asante and Sam Adeifio (the Central Regional Secretary) were present virtually via Zoom.
- NEC has deliberately deliberated on recent events in the party and resolved as follows:
- That the CEN meeting on 28e August 2021 was not properly constituted in accordance with article 45, paragraph 3, and as such, this meeting is null and void and its outcome should be treated with contempt.
- This NEC has subjected the petition submitted by the three to very diligent consideration and supports all accusations as being the truth. Therefore, Mr. David Apasera and Mr. Moses Danibaah are guilty of the charges.
- That they be removed from their respective positions in accordance with Article 49 (a) (4) of the PNC Constitution for having misconducted as prescribed in the petition indefinitely.
- That in their absence, the regional president of Greater Accra will act as national president and leader of the PNC.
- That the Secretary General be authorized to continue to exercise her functions as indicated in the constitution.
