A youth group from Tamale, in the north of the country, closed Aliu Mahama Stadium after suing the director of the Sports Authority.
The group of young people, allegedly members of the New Patriotic Party, stormed the stadium on Monday and asked the director, Hajia Alimah Salamatu, to leave.
In a video obtained by Starrfm.com.gh, one of the members stated that Hajia Salamatu was not fit to lead the sports direction of the region.
They allege in particular that the director general of the Sports Authority has quashed his decision to transfer Hajia Salamatu after accepting a bribe.
According to them, they will prevent Hajia Alimah from accessing the secretariat until their demands are met.
"Hajia Salamatu is not a quality manager at the helm of the sporting leadership and we do not allow him to cause any other problems," said one of the group members.
