Paul Pogba "hid" in the final days of Jose Mourinho as boss of Manchester United, but is again at its best after winning the "war" with the Portuguese, according to the former Arsenal player, Emmanuel Petit.
Pogba was abandoned by Mourinho his last three Premier League matches at Old Trafford, before a worrying return to the 25-year-old who followed the dismissal of Mourinho and the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim manager.
The Reds won all seven games under Solskjaer and French international Pogba played a leading role – scoring five goals and five badists during that period.
United will face Arsenal in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night, with the former Gunners midfielder Small explaining Pogba's change of approach in recent weeks.
"We all know that if you do not like what you do, you will probably face a lot of frustration on the pitch, disappointments and Manchester United have had to change on the pitch," he told reporters. Press Association Sport.

Petit, who won the World Cup with France 20 years before Pogba did the same with Les Bleus last summer in Russia, warned Arsenal that they should be afraid now that Pogba is playing with the smile after a power struggle with Mourinho.
"We all know that Mourinho is an excellent manager, but with his management, he is mostly facing his own limits. After two years, the problems come from the way he talks to players, "added Petit, as Paddy Power's ambbadador.
"It might work from time to time but not every time and I think, mentally, it was a war between the player and the manager.
"You can not fire the players, you can only dismiss the manager – it's a war that the manager can not win. So whoever you are, whatever happens, you have to keep that in mind.
"You can be the most prolific and talented manager in the world, be it Mourinho, (Pep) Guardiola and (Jurgen) Klopp, but they know that if the locker room is gone, you're lost.
"He (Pogba) is one of the leaders, he is world champion. He always says to anyone that he wants to be the key to the team, he likes being under pressure and living under responsibilities.
"In the meantime, he wants to attract the attention and love of everyone.This is the kind of player who will not perform on the pitch when he does not get the # Love of his teammates, the manager, the fans and even the press.
"But when he receives this attention, this love and affection, he is suddenly no longer the same player.
"When he is surrounded by trust and you give him responsibility on the pitch, he appreciates it and then he is the player he should be all the time."
