Polarsteps is an iOS and Android application that allows travelers to log their trips in real time and share the results with their friends and family.
The company says that the application is likely to evolve from its current iteration over time.
Co-founder and CEO Koen Droste said the startup wanted to "inspire and connect people through travel," using a single platform to host "the entire travel experience" .
"From the very first inspiration on which to go, to the memory of your journey years after its end, which is why we are working behind the scenes on our next big challenge: reinventing the way travelers plan their travels.
"In the coming year, we will offer travelers a new way to plan their next trip, and Polarsteps will be the perfect place to plan, track and remember all your trips."
The company claims to have one million registered users and 50 million days of trips collectively tracked on the app so far.
