Police arrest 19-year-old mother for murder of her three-year-old son

March 31, GNA – Asikuma Police Command Odoben Brakwa Arrested a
A 19-year-old mother who allegedly killed her three-year-old son after drowning
him in a bucket of water in Bremen Brakwa Sunday morning.

Phyllis Arthur,
popularly known in Breman Brakwa Township as Esi Agyanwa is suspected of
have committed this crime because of poverty.

Superintendent of
Police Emmanuel Baah, District Commander Bremen Asikuma, confirmed the case and
told the GNA that the police had information about the murder and proceeded to
scene to meet the macabre act.

He says, the girl who
is unemployed, was also kicked out by the boy's father and when
interviewed told the police that she was having trouble taking care of the
boy whose body was deposited at Asikuma Hospital in Bremen.

Agyanwa is in the police
custody while the investigation continues.
