At least 50 students from Mbale Municipality in Uganda were hospitalized after inhaling tear gas during a brawl that broke out between Mbale High School and Mbale High School at the time. following a history of reckless love.

Injured students were admitted to Mbale Referral Hospital, Joy Hospice Hospital, Viena Clinic, Mbale General Clinic, among others.
One of the students admitted to Mbale's referral hospital said that the fight had begun after a student of SS Mbale had attacked a student at Mbale High School, accusing him of fall in love with his long-time girlfriend.
Elvon police spokesman Robert Tukei confirmed the incident but dismissed accusations that students were hospitalized with tear gas inhalation.

"The police reacted only to stop the fight that broke out. If some of them were injured, they were injured during the fight, not necessarily by inhaling tear gas ", he said.
Tukei, however, said more than 30 students from the respective schools were arrested for inciting violence.
"I can confirm that 30 people have been arrested for incitement to violence and that they will be prosecuted accordingly," he said.
The suspects are currently being held at the Mbale Central Police Station.
He added that they had started an investigation to discover the root cause of this conflict.
Stephen Wambalo, director of Mbale High School, said the admitted students inhaled tear gas, leaving them unaware before they collapsed.
"When the police intervened, she fired tear gas, which left a lot of students screaming for help while they were choking," she said. he said.
