Police from the Northern Region announced that she had captured people of interest for the murder of the late Corporal Agatha Nana Nabin.

The suspects were arrested in Tamale to facilitate investigations and one of them (undisclosed identity) was injured during his arrest and is currently being monitored for treatment.

On July 30, 2019, at around 10:45 pm GMT, a group of four armed robbers attacked a police checkpoint on the Tamale-Kumbungu road, killing a police officer and blocking him with two firearms belonging to to the police.

The incident occurred in Malshegu, in the municipality of Sagnarigu.

Three members of the police were at the checkpoint and motioned to a sedan to stop. The occupants got out of the car and started firing at the police personnel.

According to the statement, investigations were under way to try to establish the participation of the suspects in the murder of the late corporal.

He encouraged the public to continue to voluntarily disclose information likely to lead to the arrest of the suspects, adding: "It is reminded to the public that the reward of 10,000 GHc announced by the Acting Inspector General of the police are always open to any person or group, whose information will lead to the arrest of the murderers.
