Two ex-convicts, released only two months ago from a Correctional Center, were arrested by police in Anambra for yet another case of theft.
State Police (PPRO) public relations officer CSP Haruna Mohammed disclosed in a statement to Awka on Saturday.
Mohammed said the police, together with a community vigilance group, arrested suspects on January 22 around 9:10 p.m. in Umueri in the local government area of Anambra East.
The police spokesperson identified the suspects as Anthony Okeke, 29, and Chijioke Eljiaja, 23, noting that the suspects were also from the same community they were terrorizing.
“The evidence found in their possessions includes a locally made revolver pistol and six cartridges.
“They will be brought to justice as soon as the investigation is completed,” Mohammed said.
