The Kasala Divisional Police Command closed a fake military camp in Gomoa Ojobi in the central region and arrested 14 people suspected of being fake military officers.

The operation was undertaken over the weekend by the police and the military team.

Ojobi District Police Chief, DSP David Osei Fofie, told Citi News that their action followed a report by Nana Kwesi Quansah, from the Omankrado of Gomoa Fetteh, about the fact that soldiers had destroyed it and threatened death in a video on whatsapp.

He added that new investigations were being conducted in collaboration with the army to determine the true identity of those arrested.

"Right now, they are at the Kasoa Division for investigations. We are working with the military authorities to find out who brought them to this area and if they are army officers. "

"At about 1 pm on Sunday, we had the video and a Kwasi Alhaji came to Ojobi to file a complaint that the men had threatened him with death and destroyed some of his properties, including a fence wall. Saturday, we arrested 4 people and Sunday, we stopped 10, 14 people in total.

A search carried out on arrested individuals revealed that they had bags, boots, a uniform, identity cards, military caps and other military accessories.

DSP David Osei Fofie added that he expected the military high command to confirm the identity of individuals and the legitimacy of their presence in the region.
