Vincent Redeemer Dzedzo, commander of the Western Regional Police, on Wednesday led a delegation of eight policemen to the family of Ruth Love Quayson, one of the girls abducted from Takoradi, to introduce the family to the long-awaited liaison officers.

The meeting took place on Wednesday at noon and lasted about 30 minutes but was not open to the media.

Addressing Citi News at the end of the in camera meeting, family spokesman Michael Hayford Grant said they were not allowed to ask questions and that they were not informed about the situation of the girls.

He added that they were badured of a meeting with officials of the police headquarters in Accra on Friday.

Michael Grant told Citi News that they had suspended their planned demonstration on May 1 at the police headquarters to wait for the meeting with the police.

He added that the protest would be held later if they were not convinced of the outcome of Friday's meeting with the police.

Meanwhile, Rebecca Quayson, a sister of Ruth Love Quayson, one of the girls kidnapped by Takoradi after the police visit, said she was happy that the police had introduced them to three officers who will liaise with them going on with a investigating the whereabouts of girls.

She expressed the hope that the police would bring them good news on the promised visit on Friday.
