Students allegedly broke the windshield of the SRC bus

Police fired warning shots in an attempt to disperse student protesters from Winneba University of Education.

the Students demonstrating on the University's north campus to protest against the unjustified dismissal of several lecturers to oversee the students' work, destroyed the Junior Common Room and smashed the windshield of the Student Representation Council bus. They also destroyed a billboard.

Information collected by Graphic Online Gilbert Mawuli Agbey on the scene indicates that in the ensuing melee, about five female students were transported to the hospital with injuries.

The student demonstration will also aim to lobby for the vice chancellor, Rev. Prof. Afful-Broni, be sacked. Students and professors accuse him of maladministration.
