General Director of CID Police, DCOP Maame Tiwaah Addo-Danquah
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service confirmed to MyNewsGh.com that the two girls who were reportedly kidnapped in Tarkwa were found.
One of the girls, Augustina Ndaago, a first year student of home economics at Tarkwa Senior High School (SHS), was found Monday morning in Kasoa and went to CID headquarters to be interviewed further.
Augustina Ndaago took the execution of the school authorities on the pretext of going to visit her parents, but she did not hear any further thereafter, according to her parents and the authorities of the school.
School authorities claimed that Augustina's brother had called the hostess to inform her that a "supposed" kidnapper had sent her a text message telling her that Augustina and two others were kidnapped and in their custody.
This came a few days after 25-year-old Maame Darkoa Anomah, who was missing in West Tanokrom, was later found encamped in her boyfriend's room in Prestea for more than a week.
Maame Tiwaah Addo-Danquah, Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Police (CID), told Maame Darkoa Anomah, "We arrested the suspect. Apparently, the lady met the guy, the guy suggested to the lady and she followed him to his house and they slept.
The man is in custody and we opened an investigation. This lady is in the corner, we talk to her and we question the suspect to understand the circumstances in which the whole problem occurred. "
