She recounted that the suspect had approached her and had her engaged in a conversation in front of her shop.

The mother stated that the suspect asked if his two children were ewes and then asked for their name.

After revealing that her youngest son called Mawusi, the suspect claimed that she also bore the same name.

Nana Akosua said that the suspect then asked to buy a pastry and sausage for his children.

She said that she was initially reluctant because of recent kidnappings in the area but decided to allow it and monitor the suspect closely.

According to her, she returned to her home after seeing the suspect return with her children, only to realize that they were untraceable.

She said she waited more than an hour, but only her second child came back with the suspect who ran away with the baby.

It was after the capture of the suspect by the CCTV camera from a nearby bank, while she was moving away with the baby.

Ghanaians have been alarmed in recent months as a result of numerous kidnapping cases in the country.

Three girls – Priscilla Blessing Bentum, Ruth Love Quayson and Priscilla Koranchie – have been abducted in Takoradi in the past five months.

They have still not been found, although the main suspect, identified as a Nigerian national, Samuel Wilson Udoetuk, was apprehended by the police.
