Police investigate sexual harassment complaint from J.B. Danquah's widow

The widow published an article on Facebook three years after the murder of JB Danquah Adu, alleging that the unidentified CID officer who led the homicide unit at the time had made badual advances against she.

She stated that she felt badually harbaded during a meeting with senior male officers at IDC headquarters, where an officer had asked her, "So ma'am, do you wear waist belts?

"… And if you think that it is not appropriate, try this Sunday morning when one of these men, a man at the head of an investigation into the murder of my husband has found it reasonable to gather this temerity without frills, call me and tell me how beautiful and bady he is, and give me the reasons why I must marry him, a man already married.

"Yes, he had the audacity … and he was the head of a certain important unit of the CID … and I am supposed to have confidence that they did a great job? May God forgive him, "she added.

Responding to a question about what the police administration was doing about the allegations, the IGP revealed that the widow had been contacted as part of the investigation in order to provide additional information for facilitate the investigation.

"We have set up an investigative committee to investigate this case," IGP told the media.

He added, "In fact, one of our commissioners has already invited her and she has given us time to come, it's an ongoing investigation."

Mysterious death

J.B. Danquah-Adu was stabbed to death in a strange robbery case on the night of Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his Shiashie residence in Accra.

The main suspect, Daniel Asiedu, was arrested two days after the incident. His accomplice was arrested several weeks later.

But the widow, Ivy Heward-Mills, criticized the frantic pace of the ongoing lawsuit.
