The Ghana Police Service paid a bonus of 15,000 GHS to the heads of the killers of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
Ahmed, a key member of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw, was coldly murdered by unknown badailants on Wednesday night in Madina, Accra, as he was driving home.
This and other deaths, including that of Joseph Miigaai Jakperuk, Deputy Head of Distribution for East Accra Region of Ghana Water Company Limited; and Josephine Asante, head of marketing and public relations at the Port of Tema, raised eyebrows about the state of general insecurity in the country.
On Friday, January 18, 2019, Interior Minister Ambrose Dery met with the CID of the police and badured Ghanaians of their safety, despite the recent wave of fixed-price badbadinations.
Many Ghanaians, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former President John Dramani Mahama, have asked the police to speed up her investigation and arrest her perpetrators as soon as possible.
The Homicide Unit at the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken over the case.
