A cop could appear in court after admitting to stealing police accessories, including AK 47 ammunition and a body bag, dailymailgh.com has learned.

Lance Corporal Christian Adjei is questioned by police in the Bono Est region, after a team of investigators stormed his Kintampo residence on Thursday, September 9 to recover the objects.

Police, during a search of the suspect’s rented self-catering apartment, found 10 live AK 47 ammunition, body armor, a body bag belonging to the Ghana Police Service and a ballistic helmet on duty.

The team also recovered a package of dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp, several sources familiar with the development told dailymailgh.com.

He admitted he smokes Indian hemp, the sources said.

The items may have been seized as a result of a whistleblower, as the suspicious officer has yet to disclose his source of supply, although he admitted to stealing the items in his warning.

Police said the exhibits were kept while the suspect officer remains in custody for further investigations.
