Police officers attacked while a new conflict strikes the Ashanti region; 18 people arrested

YEN.com.gh understands that 18 people were arrested after the clashes between two groups in Dagomba Asokore Mampong municipality, in the Ashanti region.

Two rival groups, whose members brandished firearms and cartridges, damaged property and injured people.

The incident occurred after three halls and three booths in the slum were set on fire by squatters after clashes with the police.

According to a report from clbadfmonline.com, the police monitored a demolition exercise under a court order secured by the owner on which the cabins were built.

Available information suggests that a group of aggrieved squatters attacked the police with sticks, stones and other missiles.

The officers withdrew and called for reinforcement while the fire officers rushed to extinguish the flames.

In another report, it appeared that some Black Stars players did not respect or follow the instructions of their coach Kwesi Appiah in Egypt.

According to Ntow Gyan, former Asante Kotoko player, most Black Stars players have openly disrespected the coach and have not followed simple instructions.

He made these revelations in an interview with Happy FM in Accra on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.
