A team of police officers and army officers arrested 12 people with six single-barreled cannons in Nambiri, a dominant community in Chorkosi.

The team was in the community as part of their usual patrols when she found one person who wielded a single gun.

Northern Regional Police Command public relations officer Ussif Tanko, who confirmed the arrest at Citi News, said the suspect who had fled after seeing the patrol team had been stopped after hot pursuit.
The team then decided to conduct a search in the community where the weapons were recovered, while the owners were arrested to facilitate investigations.

Six of the suspects who had no evidence were released on police bail.

The other suspects, however, were arrested in Yendi.

Meanwhile, the communities of Konkomba and Chekosi remain calm and peaceful due to extensive community involvement and intensive police and military patrols.
