Police Report Nine Others Wanted for Shooting at NDC Office in Kumasi

The Ashanti regional police command said nine other people were wanted for their alleged involvement in the shooting incident that occurred last Monday at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regional headquarters.

This brings to 13 the number of people wanted in the bloody incident that resulted in the death of one person and serious injury to another person.

In a statement issued by the Ashanti Police Regional Public Relations Officer, Mr. Godwin Ahianyo, Deputy Superintendent of Police (ASP), appointed these nine people under the name of Sanni Mohammed, also known as Commando, Wayo, Element, Jah Street, Akon, Fayiz, Mallam. and Rock.

Hussein Bari aka Warrior, Midjima, Damos and Abu Taliban were the first four people declared wanted.

According to sources, the security services reportedly collected information that the young people from Sawaba and Aboabo where the deceased was staying planned to march to Tafo Zongo, where they thought the perpetrators were hiding, to avenge the death of their neighbor.

The army had to prevent the youth from changing course for Tafo Zongo after the burial and escorted them to Aboabo. The solemn funeral rites were performed in a tense atmosphere.

Members of the self-defense group, riding on motorbikes, reportedly shot indiscriminately, killing one person and causing serious injury to another.
