The Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police is looking for the wife of Nana Appiah Mensah, aka NAM1, who is reported to be on the run.

Prosecutors today announced at the Accra circuit that their wife, Rose Tetteh, and Benedicta Appiah, sister of NAM1, were facing four counts, including cheating under a false pretext alongside the businessman in conflict.

The court acquiesced to the police's requests and placed Nana Appiah Mensah in custody pending re-appearance on July 26th. This will allow the police to investigate the Menzgold saga.

NAM1 is accused of defrauding 16,000 customers of more than 1.68 billion GH ¢ between January 2017 and September 2018.

Under Article 6 (1) of the Banks and Specialized Deposit Institutions Act, 2016 (Law 930)

His sister and his wife, Benedicta Appiah and Rose Tetteh, also face the law. Police investigators charged them with two counts of false pretense fraud and two counts of inducing banking without a license, in violation of Article 6 (1) of Law 930.

The other two companies of NAM1, Brew Marketing Consult and Menzgold Ghana Limited, have also been charged with fraud, including false pretense fraud, in violation of Articles 20 (1) and 13 (1) of the 1960 Act. criminal offenses (Law 29).

The two companies were also accused of engaging in unlicensed deposit taking activity, in violation of Article 6 (1) of Law 930.

During the heat of the Menzgold saga, NAM1's wife would have quickly given up some of her husband's badets and fled to an unknown destination. Some have claimed that she was hiding in South Africa.
