The Elubo District Police Command arrested three men posing as National Petroleum Authority (NPA) inspectors charged with inspecting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stations in the area. West.

The impostors
The suspects – Frederick Mensah, Opoku Isaac Mensah and George Larbi – were arrested with the help of NPA staff at one of the LPG stations in Elubo after appearing as officers. from a company engaged by the regulator to perform official inspection tasks.
The otherwise elegantly dressed impostors arrived at the service stations in a Toyota Highlander plush wine vehicle and charged about GHG 2,250 per service station, after which they issued handwritten receipts on a piece of paper.

They had provided GPL stations with a written price list stating that their alleged company, Petrogolf, was working with NPA to conduct inspections of all service stations to ensure safe operations. They left the price list and asked the owners of the station to make a decision before returning to proceed with the inspection.
For example, they charged 400 ¢ for the verification of the manometer, 400 GH for the verification of the temperature, while the pressure test costs 1000 €.
The director of the station, who was not comfortable with the new list, called the regional office of the NPA to inquire new conditions.
The NPA regional office then sent a team to the service station and shortly after the three alleged impostors returned to complete the task, they were recovered.
Suspicion
Following the arrest, NPA Takoradi Zone Director David Azey Adeenze Kangah said around 10 am on Monday that the director of the service station had informed him of the suspects and their activities. .
Kanga said this was not the first time his office had received complaints from oil service providers downstream of people using the NPA name to extort money from them, hence the decision to make money. follow up immediately.

Several complaints
During the interrogation, the three men claimed to have previously provided services at service stations in Half Assini, but the NPA clarified that their database did not contain any names indicating that they had made this service. service.
