The Ghana Police Service (GPS) announced today, Monday, September 27, 2021, that it will bring Joséphine Panyin Mensah, the woman at the center of the Takoradi kidnapping plot, to court in court.
For the past week, the news has been shining the spotlight on the 28-year-old’s family after she was found by a carpenter in a bush after missing for several days.
Surprisingly, the woman whose family confirmed missing with a nine-month pregnancy returned without a baby bump and without a baby as well.
Subsequently, the Ghana Police Service, after its preliminary investigations, announced to the general public that medical experts had confirmed that the woman was not pregnant as claimed.
Later, amid insults and reactions from the woman’s family and neighbors, the police transferred her to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital for another check-up to confirm her pregnancy.
The second check proving that Joséphine Panyin Mensah was not pregnant, she later confessed to the police that she was neither pregnant nor kidnapped.
After her arrest last Friday, police said they would bring her to court today.
