AC Milan seems more and more sure to trade its number nine in January, while Gonzalo Higuain is about to leave and that Krzysztof Piatek of Genoa seems to be entering.

The journey up to now
Piatek was born in July 1995 in Dzierżoniów (Poland). He spent most of his youth career with local team Dziewiątka Dzierżoniów before joining young rival Lechia Dzierżoniów in 2011.
He spent two years with Lechia before starting to train with Zagłębie Lubin of Ekstraklasa (Polish first division), where he settled as a starter at the end of his first season in 2013-14.
Piatek scored 18 goals in 85 caps for all Lubin competitions, before being a big hit with the powerful Cracovia. He also scored 11 league goals in his first season and 21 in his second, Ekstraklasa's third-most in 2017-18.
Piatek was brought to Italy by the success of his company. Last June, he signed a four-year contract with Genoa for 4 million euros. He scored four goals in his club debut – including a hat-trick in the first 19 minutes – against Lecce in Coppa Italy.
Piatek would become the first player since Gabriel Batistuta in the 1994-1995 season to score in each of his first seven appearances in Serie A, and his record of 19 goals in 21 appearances so far for the Grifone is simply remarkable.
The style of play
As many of the Rossoneri's No. 9 have been in the past, the 23-year-old's greatest badet is his positioning and predatory instinct.
Considered a center forward – ideal for Gennaro Gattuso's 4-3-3 system – Piatek is a physical player that is both good in the air and deadly with the ball on the ground.
