Dr. Vladimir Antwi-Danso, Accra, International Relations Expert and Lecturer at the International Peacekeeping Training Center Kofi Annan (KAIPTC), said the local culprits may be responsible for the recent kidnappings in Ghana with the aim of rendering the unpopular government.

According to him, the recent kidnappings could have a negative impact on the political fortune of President Akufo Addo before the next elections in 2020.

Dr. Vladimir Antwi-Danso spoke at the AM Show on Multi TV on Monday while participating in talks on the kidnapping of two Canadian nationals in Kumasi last week.

Ghana has recorded kidnapping cases in the past year.

The three kidnapped Takoradi girls who were abducted in 2018 are still to be located. The Nigerian national accused of the crime is currently serving a prison sentence.
