The group is dissatisfied with the treatment of Charterhouse Ghana, organizer of the prestigious awards program.
This year marks the 20th edition of the VGMA, propelled by Charterhouse Ghana and sponsored by Vodafone Ghana.
Praye, who for years has separated, returned to the Ghanaian serenade with some old successful titles. In 2018, he made good music by publishing successful titles. He hoped to be nominated at the VGMA in 2019.
As the group's sense of nostalgia came together again, it was announced at most of the musical events last year. But as shocking as it may sound, they did not feature in any of the event categories this year.
Speaking of welcoming Kwame Adjetia on Neat FM "Entertainment Ghana", Eugene Baah, known in music circles as "choir leader", and a member of Praye outraged the organizers by explaining that they had really disappointed them.
He explained that before the group unified, the organizers of the VGMA promised to support them on their return, but by all indications. the organizers only wanted to take advantage of their unit to project their brand.
The choirmaster noted that since the union of Praye, Charterhouse had abandoned them. What is bitter is that they have not even recognized their hard work, although they have sent them their songs to be nominated for this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
"Were very [very, very] disappointed. Since we returned together, no one even supported us with 5 cedis. We finance ourselves. And again, when you promised that you guys are going to support us only for you to disappoint us with what you do. This price is not really our priority because, as you know, Praye, we have won many awards, but it is a deliberate attempt to push us out; I'm sure Praye fans will not take it lightly," he said.
The choirmaster, speaking on behalf of the group, remarked that he was extremely unhappy that the organizers of the event did not succeed in naming them.
"You do not have to play with the hearts of the fans who invest, who come to watch your show; who put everything they want in what you do. . . Our complaint is that this thing can not continue every day. If you want to do it that way, then do it from the Charterhouse Music Awards. With regard to this, if you award rewards to someone and you refuse others, no one will complain, but if you want to make music prizes from Ghana; be sure to satisfy the Ghanaian. Do not let them complain every day, " he has roughly blurted out.
