Paramount Pictures is growing Love of summer, A prelude to the epic 1978 musical Fat, Who immortalized the 1950s love story at John Travolta's Danny High School and Olivia Newton-John's Sandy.
The studio hired writer John August (Big fish) to write the previous script, confirms his publicist Bebe Lerner.
The prequel will use the song and lyrics of Nights of summer as a starting point to tell how the two lovers met.

The story of Sandy and Danny will remain alive in a Grease movie.
The song portrays a young, carefree love in the summer before Sandy and Danny find themselves expressing clashing characters in social cliques at Rydell High School – Danny a Greaser and Sandy an Australian.
In the song Nights of summerDanny and Sandy tell their summer love very differently to their respective friends who sing: "Say more, say more."
The pre-quill will fill the image of love on the beach before the start of clbades. Paramount has not yet shared casting details or potential release dates.
As fate would have it, Nights of summer could officially kill one of the most enduring conspiracy theories on Fat. Online speculation centered on a song that tells Danny to sing Sandy: "She swam by me, she had a cramp, I saved her life, she almost drowned."
In 2016, the theory that Sandy was actually drowned during this summer day became viral, speculating that the whole movie was her coma fantasy before her death.
In 2018, Travolta himself dismissed the theory with a laugh, saying, "I love him, the fantasies are great."
