VICTORIA, BC – A new ICBC insurance model aims to crack down on bad drivers.

According to ICBC, 75% of customers could see a reduction in their overall premiums, but those who receive tickets between June 10 and September 1 could see an increase.

Premiums for minor offenses, such as not stopping, not giving up, not wearing a seatbelt, and not wearing a seatbelt, will only increase. After two tickets.

Those who receive more serious convictions such as Criminal Code offenses, impaired driving, excessive speed and distracted driving will see their premiums increase after their first conviction.

ICBC has not yet said how much driver premiums will increase.

Also starting September 1, ICBC will adopt a basic insurance model that will focus on the driver in accidents, not on the vehicle.
