Deputy Chief Gbenga Daniel, vice chairman of the Democratic People's Party of PDP (Southern Presidential Campaign Council), said the PDP and its flag bearer, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, won the presidential elections on Saturday.
He spoke to reporters after a campaign visit to the Ogun-East senate district for Atiku on Sunday.
According to him, Nigerians have decided who to vote in elections.
Daniel said, "You may find that the unemployment rate at the national level has dropped and that security today is not unanimous. You can also see that the economy has practically collapsed.
"So, when you look at all these clues at both state and national levels, you will find that, unfortunately, the expectations of the population are not met.
"The next elections will take place between two people. the people who are there known as the APC and the main opposition party that is PDP. What Nigerians were saying is that they believe they made a mistake in 2015 and that they want to correct the mistake.
"So we decided to go out to interact with our people at all levels, especially at the local level, to remind them of the kind of administration we had under the presidency and tell them it was an opportunity that came up on Saturday. to then return PDP to power.
"I think without a doubt this election is won. I have traveled the country and I am convinced that PDP won these elections. The challenge we face is to ensure that special effects are avoided and I am confident that Nigerians will not allow it.
"You can clearly see that our people are fed up with the current administration at all levels. In Ogun State in particular, if you look at what has happened in the last eight years, you can see that the greater part of the state continues to shout at marginalization, that the development we have witness has not been equal, that the number of priorities defined does not correspond to the immediate needs of the population.
"You can see to a very large extent that there has been what we may call wasting the resources of the population with projects that are not the priority of the population," he said. .
