Former President John Agyekum Kufuor pledged his support to Ghana Medical Relief (GMR), a nonprofit organization of doctors and volunteers based in the United States and Ghana, which provides free medical services to communities disadvantaged people in Ghana.

He reported on Monday when the GMR team paid him a courtesy call at his home in Accra.

The former president was pleased with the organization's initiative to annually mobilize health professionals and volunteers from the United States and Ghana for free care in different communities and to announce support for the organization. team.

GMR has organized free screening services for residents of Anomabo in the central region

Ghana's doctor, Samuel Kwapong Owusu, president of Ghana Medical Relief, thanked the former president for hosting the team. in disadvantaged communities.

The GMR has successfully launched a free four-day medical experiment at Anomabo where services such as pediatric urology, medical care, dental care, gynecology and obstetrics, among others, have been provided to 3000 people.

Last year, the team was in Asiakwa in the Eastern region and provided similar services to the natives of the region.

The organization works with hospitals, churches and agencies in the United States for medical supplies and equipment donated to hospitals and clinics in Ghana.

To date, the organization has donated hospital beds, ultrasound devices, examination tables, cardiac defibrillators, operating room equipment and many medical supplies / drugs to several hospitals and clinics in Ghana.

The goal of the organization is to provide free health care missions every year in Ghana.
